Rapture is the real deal.
The coaching at Rapture Ericeira is on another level — video review after every session, small groups, and a rooftop terrace that makes the evenings worth staying in for. Left with a pop-up I've been chasing for three years.

Zero kitsch, all substance.
Booked Lapoint Ericeira solo thinking it'd be awkward; left with six new friends and a sunburn I'm still proud of. The converted winery is stunning — stone walls, old tile, a pool I moved into for three afternoons.

Sagres Natura is worth the drive south.
Being inside the natural park means the beaches aren't overrun. Small gripe — WiFi patchy in the bungalows; fine in the main building. Otherwise a brilliant week. The Wednesday coastal hike was a bonus I wasn't expecting.

Baleal changed how I travel.
First surf holiday, won't be my last. The Baleal team has seen every nervous beginner — they're patient, funny, and genuinely invested. Three days in I was catching my own waves. Peniche is insane value compared to anywhere else in Europe.

Where you'll be surfing

Five minutes to the break, three waves within cycling distance — the van runs at dawn and dusk.
